"Open in New Window" does NOTHING in IE8
Hellowhenever I click on a link that should open in a new window, nothing happens. Also, if I right click and select "open in new window" nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE8 but that didnt help. I have also tried to register the dll's again.these were successful: regsvr32 urlmon.dllregsvr32 actxprxy.dllregsvr32 jscript.dllregsvr32 vbscript.dllregsvr32 oleaut32.dll
These 3 all gave me the following message:regsvr32 shdocvw.dllregsvr32 mshtml.dllregsvr32 browseui.dll
"The module "filename.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found.
Make sure that "filename.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again." where as filename is the 3 dll's listed above the error message. so far nothing has helped. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. This is aggravating. It's starting to look like I will have to set Chrome or Firefox as my default browser, which really sux... I have always been a big fan of IE. Please help me fix this issue

It appears that UAC being turned off was the cause of this issue. Why? I have no idea and if someone can clear this up for me I would appreciate it.

Hi,
Here are some suggestions you can try:
1. Reload IE settings
a. Click Start menu and type "inetcpl.cpl" in the open box, and then press Enter to open the Internet options window.
b. Switch to the Advanced tab.
c. Click the "Reset" button to reset Internet Explorer settings.
d. Click Reset to confirm the operation.
e. Click Close when the resetting process finished.
f. Open Internet Option again and in Advanced tab, please also uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" option in the Settings box.
g. Click the General tab, click the Use Blank button under the Home page area
h. Click Apply, click OK.
i. Switch to Programs tab, please click "Make default" button if it is not grayed out and check the "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser" option.
j. Close Internet Explorer window.
2. Perform a Clean Boot to check the result. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
3. Temporarily uninstall all third party browsers and open antivirus program to do a complete scan.
Can IE web page be opened normally now?
Thanks,
Novak
